Scaramouche emerged through a process of resistance and play. What began as a challenging piece gradually unfolded into a spirited, theatrical character—mischievous, expressive, and alive with movement. The sculptural cut of the wood allows the figure to exist beyond the traditional rectangle, reinforcing a sense of personality and performance.
Balancing control and spontaneity, layered oil and spray paint create a dynamic surface that echoes the character’s playful yet slightly devilish energy. This work reflects the artist’s ongoing exploration of transformation—how tension within the process often gives way to unexpected identity.
